Circular parts / Belts

  • The cylindrical shape has the best efficiency / price ratio for many applications.
  • The shielding should have a diameter of at least 2 times less than the length to prevent looping of the field lines inside the cylinder.
  • The cylinders can be rolled with over lapping, electrically welded or TIG welded.
  • The standard specifications are + / - 0.2 MM

  • The belt is a variant of the cylindrical shape with a less advantageous efficiency / price ratio.
  • The closure of the belt can also be done by TIG welding, electrical welding or by setting...
  • A large bending radius promotes the shielding effectiveness but is more difficult to achieve. We recommend radii of 0.8 mm.

  • This is a classic form suitable for photomultipliers
  • MMc provides these parts by unit or by series with thicknesses ranging from 0.5 mm to 2 mm.
  • Depending on the quantities, the bicylinder-conus will be manufactured from different processes: « hand made », spinned, or issued from a press machine.

  • The cylindrical shape is magnetically attractive because the magnetic field lines circulate easily in its thickness.
  • If the field lines are in line with the axis, it is better to add a “washer” or  to increase the length.
